- There were not many shops long ago. the way that people got some goods long ago was by giving things in exchange for things which they had not.
Buying and selling was carried on after mass. It is not still practiced yet. Money was not always given for goods. Goods were often bartered in the district.
Work was often given in change for goods. It was considered unlucky to transact business on certain days. The days were Friday and some others. The markets were held at crossroads. There are markets held at some places yet. There is a fair held once every year at the "Rock of Muff". It does be held on the 12th of August.
