Then they used to make Potato bread with potatoes and flour and salt and soda and bake it on a griddle. They used to bake in olden times twice a day They used to make their own barm from meal-seeds steeped in a crock of water and leave it until it would sour and then wet the bread with it. They made wheaten bread also, they made no soda bread. Oaten bread was mostly the kind of bread used
