When the bride and bridegroom are going away on their honeymoon the people tie an old boot on the car to bring good luck to the bride.
On the day of the wedding there is a feast held in the brides house.
The night of the wedding the "Straw Boys" come to visit the Bride guided by a seargent. The dress is made of straw with big silk belts. The hat is made in the form of a stuck of oats or wheat. Their arms are bound with the straw with belts around the wrist and their knees filled with straw. Their boots are also bound with straw with black bows. The people recieve them with great welcome and the Bride offers them money. After a while they order the music and take the bride out for a dance each one in turn.
Then they give three cheers(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
