Ar an leathanach seo

  1. There is a blessed well in the parish of Killofin. It is situated in the townland of Mount Shannon. It is known as St Kierans blessed well. It is visited on all holidays of obligation, but especially on the saint's day the ninth of September. Seven rounds must be performed and the Rosary said on doing each round. The water of the well is famous for the cure of eye ailments. There is a little fish seen in the well by those who are to be cured.
    St Kieran went on a visit to St Senan on Scattery Island. On his way home he landed on this peninsula and founded a little church here called St Kieran's church. Not far from the church was his blessed well. He left the church and well in charge of the people of the place who disregarded the well and used
