    British and the Irish. The Irish went by the name of the Fenians. The Fenian's law was death to spies. There were there men suspected as spies and the three were suspected and the tops of their tongues were cut off and they could not talk. So the British took the three men around in a car and anyone they would point at would be hanged. It happened one day that the man who broke in the Church door was standing at a doorway in Doonbeg. Those passed in a car and they pointed at him and he was hanged. The three spies were Doyles they were brothers and they lived in Cree.
