- St. Senan and his mother were, one day, travelling from Ross to Mullougha and on the way, the mother was insulted by the people of a certain village between Rehy and Kilcredaun. The mother felt the insult keenly but Seanán told her that God would punish them. They came along and when they reached the height beyond Carraig a Chabhaltaigh they looked back and discovered that the village had disappeared and was under the sea.Part of it is still known as the submerged forest on the shore of Luimneach Bheag. When the waves lash over the shore of Cill Staifín, people say that it is an indication of bad weather.
