A field in Dunaree is called the "Carraige" which means "the rock". It was so called because it was always whinny and rocky.
Another is called the "lime kiln" because lime was burned there long ago.
A field in Donaghmoyne is called the "Páirc Bhán" on account of its clay being whiter than any other clay in the neighbourhood.
Another field is called "Purgatory" because it is so hard to manage as its heights are never wet and the hollows are never dry.
