- The evictions of Skeagh was about 70 years ago. There was alot of people evicted during that time and left on the roadside to make out a living. The McEntire family were evicted out of Hall's house in Drumeague. There was three children in McEntyres Michael, James and Patrick their mother and father were both living.
The McEntyres are all dead but MIchael. Patrick died in Mullingar about four years ago. James died three years ago in the house that Michael is now living in. It belongs to Henry Hall of Drumeague.
They were evicted on a Friday when they were eating their dinner. They were all sitting round the basket on the middle of the floor when the landlord came in Sir George Hudson. He came into the house and lifted the basket and left it on the manure heap. He told them to get out to the road.
