Ar an leathanach seo
- The different kinds of bread that were used some years ago were, potato bread, oat bread, (and) boxty bread, Bear Bread, rye bread, barley bread and wheaten bread.
Potato Bread:- First of all the potatoes were boiled and peeled. Then they were put through a sieve. Next they were mixed with flour carroway seed. They were flattened out on a bread board, and put into squares called farells. Those farells were baked on a griddle over an open fire. This griddle was the shape of a pan.
Oat Bread:- The oat meal and salt were mixed with luke warm water and were mixed to a dry dough. It was then put behind a griddle before an open fire. This griddle had a vacancy between its bars.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
