Ar an leathanach seo

  1. The different kinds of bread that were used some years ago were, potato bread, oat bread, (and) boxty bread, Bear Bread, rye bread, barley bread and wheaten bread.
    Potato Bread:- First of all the potatoes were boiled and peeled. Then they were put through a sieve. Next they were mixed with flour carroway seed. They were flattened out on a bread board, and put into squares called farells. Those farells were baked on a griddle over an open fire. This griddle was the shape of a pan.
    Oat Bread:- The oat meal and salt were mixed with luke warm water and were mixed to a dry dough. It was then put behind a griddle before an open fire. This griddle had a vacancy between its bars.
