- Fairy Forts
Here are some places where forts are situated in this locality. There is one in Tullylougherny, one in Tonnaneave, one in Drumgossatt,, one in Lisnaclay, one in Drumcarrow, one in Anallard, and a moat in Knocknacrann. Long ago people believed that fairies lived on these forts. People do not believe this nowadays, and they say that there are no such people as fairies.
Here is a fairy tale collected by Alice Crawley, Lisnaclay from her father Thomas Crawley:-
One morning a man called Joseph Byrne was out mowing corn. As he was mowing he saw a fairy standing beside him. He caught the fairy and asked him if he knew where gold was hidden.
