  1. In almost every part of Ireland, articles are made and placed in the houses in honour of a saint or feast. Saint Patricks cross is made and placed sometimes on the walls of the houses or smaller badges in the shape of harps are worn in coats on Saint Patricks Day. The cross is made of green ribbons decked with silver and gold beads. Saint Brigid's cross is made in February and hung on the eves inside to keep away sickness or disease from the house. The cross is kept for a year and a new one is put in its place. The rosary was said for Saint Brigid that night. The cross was made of straw, Rowan branches are hung in the byre and stable on May-Eve.
    The people get a cloak and decorate it with straw. This is called Saint Brigid's cloak. There are stories told
