- I was born and reared in Knockalisheen. It is in the Parish of Parteen. There is a lis in the townland and from that the place got its name. There are very few houses in this place. Almost all the land belongs to a couple of men. The houses are all slated. There is a nice wood close by. Castlepark is on the opposite side of the road. A black figure is seen there every night sitting on an iron chair. There is a holy well on the hill. People did rounds there long ago.
