people on foot paid a half-penny. This house is now one hundred and twenty years old. It is the oldest house in the parish of Meelick. It was built in the year 1818. All kinds of work are done in this forge. Horses, ponies, and asses are shod, so also are cart wheels. Farm implements are repaired too.
The forge water is one of the best cures for warts, corns and even chilblains. The old smith was a horse doctor too. He could cure horses and other animals.
