- Gallows Hill in Co. Clare was a place for executing Christians during the time of Cromwell. It is said that a native of this place was hanged there because he was caught having a priest staying in the house for shelter. The priest's and the man's name are unknown. John Hynes and several others were hanged here. There is a little cell on the hill.* Glenagross. King Crimthan lies buried in one of Mrs. Patrick Crowe's fields.
