- In the penal days the priests used not be allowed to say mass in their churches. Sometimes they used to say mass out by rocks in the mountains and other times they used to have a secret hut built for themselves to read mass in.
A very bad man who lived at that time was a man called Seán na Sagart who used to kill priests. He used to go to bed and pretend he was sick and send for a priest. He used to have his sword inside him in the bed and when the priest would come he would kill him with it.
He killed many priests(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
