- There were many old customs common in Ireland long ago and many of them remain. On St. Stephen's day people go from house to house with a dead wren gathering money. On November night we get apples and nuts and beans.
The people put two nuts on the ashes and put the name of a boy and a girl on them. if the two nuts jump together the boy and the girl will be married but if one jump one way and(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
