- In the olden times the grown up people used to make barm bread. Wholemeal bread was also made from wheat and soda. Long ago the bread used be baked in an ovenpot. Potato-cake was baked on a griddle. In some cases where there was a big family bread used be baked twice a week.(continues on next page)
