    with elder-branches. They get a piece of elder and bore a hole through it; then they get another stick and put it into the hole and put a cork at the end of the gun.
    They make cradle-birds to trap birds; they are also made of elder snares to catch rabbits and hares. Snares are made from snare-wire and two sticks down in the ground and rabbits and hares can be caught in them.
    Some-times boys make the image of a lamp out of a turnip. First of all they cut the turnip into two halves, then they scoop down the halves and in one half they make windows and the light they say can come through those windows. Then they leave that half on the other half and it is the shape of a lamp.
