  1. There are three forges in the parish of Knock, each owned by men named Tigues. John Tigue, Kelly Tigue, and Owen Mick Tigue. John Tigue's forge is covered with a thatched roof, with rough stones in the walls, and two half doors leading into it. It is situated on the roadside apart form any stream or crossroads.
    None of those three are brothers to one another, but they are related. The fire is in the (me) corner of the Forge and the anvil is placed in the middle of the floor, and old horse shoes are always put in a tidy heap at some corner of the forge.
