  1. They used to get a bag of oats and put it in water. When it was a week or two there they took it out and spread it out in the field to dry. They left it there for three or four days they took it in and put it up on the loft to dry better. Then they took it down and put it in a still to boil and the moisture that came out the still they caught it in a can and that was the poteen.
