  1. Once there was a man named Michael Forry. He used to go visiting to Tavrane House every night.
One night as he was coming from visiting, his dog began to fight with something in a pit in Pat Eagan's field. Michael set the dog and he flung a stone into the pit. After awhile he heard great noise coming out of the pit.
He looked behind him and saw the head of a horse and a couple of dogs coming after him. They ran Michael all the way to his house. He jumped the half-door of his house and collapsed on the floor and the stone he flung into the pit was flung into the house after him.
The ppeople of the house sent for old Mrs. Hurley and when she came she shut the front door and opened the back door.
