    (continued from previous page)
same parish and saw something dressed in white on the bank like a man. He went over and struck it with a whip and a sound like a waterproof coat came from it. It disappeared immediately.
There was a man one time named Danny Sherwin of Damastown in parish of Naul Co Dublin coming from a fair after buying sheep. When he came within a mile of the Grallagh graveyard in the parish of Rollestown Co Dublin, a man jumped across the gate. Danny said "good-night" to him but he got no answer.
They walked on together but the man said nothing. He went in one gate and came out another and so on until they came to the graveyard gate. He went in but did not come out again. When Danny got home he was just in the door when he fainted.
