  1. This is another version which I got from
    Mr. William Dunne
    Curtis Stream, Palmerstown.
He has lived in Co. Dublin always.
He is a middle age man, and a labourer.
When the battle was raging at Irishtown, a stream of blood flowed downwards past Curtis Stream and across the road.
A priest was travelling on the road on horseback.
When he reached Curtis Stream the horse shied and would not move but threw th epriest from his back as it got frightened at the sight of the blood.
The priest said: "Cursed be that stream." From that the place was named "Curses Stream" (Cursed Stream). The name was afterwards changed to Curtis Stream.
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
