  1. My home district is glencar. It is said that about seven years ago a thunderbolt fell near Glencar, but I have never seen it. The population of Glencar is about forty people. The word Glencar means the "Glen of the rock pillars". The most common names are Wallace and Harris. Mass was said in Glencar near Rodger's Burn during the Penal Days. Glencar is in the suburbs of Letterkenny. There are only about five big slate houses in Glencar. The rest are thatched houses.
