Sites of historic interest in the district of Rathmullen.
The site of a Mass-rock can still be seen in the district of Glencross. It takes the form of a circle made of stones. Although the stones has become overgrown the ring is still easily distinguishable. It was used in Penal days.
In the village of Rathmullen is the site of MacSwine's castle, famed as the home of Red Hugh during the time he was Foster-son to MacSwine of the Battle-Axes. Adjoining it are the ruins of an Abbey. Both there are well-known in archaeological circles.
