- The thrush selects places similar to the blackbird for building its nest. It makes its nest much better than the blackbird. It plasters its nest inside with wet clay and allows it to dry. It does not line its nest, and it lays from five to six eggs. They are blue in colour and are the same size as a blackbird's egg. The thrush is not like the blackbird, it does not like ripe fruit but eats snails worms and slugs. It is very amusing to see it break a snail box to get at a snail.
- The robin is the best known of all our birds and is very tame. It builds its nest quite near to the dwelling house in any handy place it gets. The robin is unlike other birds it is not afraid to build its nest where it can be seen because it knows that it will not be touched.(continues on next page)
