Every farmer has a churn. In summer the farmer churns three times a week. In winter when the milk is scarce the farmer only churns once a week. My mother and my sister does the churning. It takes them about an hour to churn It is done by hand. It is churned with a churn staff The churn staff is moved up and down. During churning boiling water is poured in because it makes the milk easy to churn. When the milk is churned a wooden butter dish is thoroughly scalted. It is then lifted off by butter and washed in cold water
