- A storm of wind. 6th Jan 1839
22-11-37 My father heard his father say, that nearly one hundred years ago one Sunday a sudden storm took place - just as the people were coming down from Mass in Greenhill Chapel.
The corn was cut but the most of it was in stooks in the fields.
The sheaves of corn were blown in the air and they started to go round in the air, that shows us that it was a whirl wind.
Most of it was never seen again.
The sheaves of flax were blown across from Fanad to Glebe shore also. That shows us that is was westerly wind.

In the year 1882 there was a great storm of snow in Donegal and one also one hundred years ago. At that time all the hollows were filled with snow and made level with the high hill, houses that were built low down in hollows were covered in snow and tunnels were cut out to the high places. On top of the heights all you could see was a line of smoke coming out(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
