  1. When Sarah MCallion was living here on Earth her home was built on the bank of the river which flows from Slieve-Main into the Cranna. Some fairy bushes were growing near the house and the fairies were supposed to stay in them. When Sarah used to be in the house by herself they used to come in and laugh at her. They would ask her for sugar and if she wouldn't give it to them they would take it themselves and they also would steal her meal. They used to steal her beetle and keep it for a fortnight or so and then they would come in and say "did you lose your beetle Sarah" and then they would throw it at her and jump on one and other's backs and laugh at Sarah and then run out.
    When Sarah used to be making her supper they would come in and laugh at her and she would say "go out you rascals ye", or I will hit you with the pot-stick. Some times they would steal a scon of bread, and they also would take her apron which she wore but sometimes afterwards they would give it back to her. When a funeral used to
