- (continued from previous page)and left the cake down on it and they used put coals on the top of it.The old people used to make arán coirce in two leaves of cabbage.First they put a leaf of cabbage on the hearth under the cake and one over it and coals on it.Other people made cakes by putting four sods of turf under the cake and the tongs over that.
- Warm the bed well - wash feet in boiling water, as hot as can be borne, hop into bed, take a good hot drink of milk as hot as can be taken, with butter, melted in milk and some pebber shaken on it as well.
