  1. About thirty years ago a sad drowning took place at Finnertys mills Leitrim. A man named Pat Griffin of Leitrim was going to visit at Finnertys, he lost his way and got caught in the mill race. He was found next morning by his daughter-in-law on her way to Mass. It was Christmas morning and the tragedy created a great stir in the neighbourhood For a long time afterwards people passing by the mill at night imagined they saw a person at the place where his body was fond.
