The treasure is a crock of gold placed there by the Danes for safety till the war would be over. The Danes were defeated in the war by Brian Born and driven out of the country and they never came back for the gold.
- There is a hidden treasure above Wardhouse in a cliff on the sea-shore. A man was out shooting birds one day and he was resting against the cliff when it fell in and left a big hole behind him. The man looked into the hole and he saw a lion coming out. He shot the lion and went into the cave and there he met another lion. He saw a(continues on next page)
