- Long ago there lived a very poor widow who had one son named Jack. One day Jack went away to work and that night he got a penny for his wor. When he came home his mother asked him for his wages but he soon dicovered he lost out of his pocket. His mother asked him why did he not carry it in his hand. He told her he would do that any more.
