  1. Candles were made in this district long ago, but they are not made now. The people used to gather rushes and peel them and put the pitch into fat boiling grease until it was nice round shape. They did not give as good a light as the candles that are made now. Baskets and creels are made in this district. They are made from long sally rods and hazel rods. When a basket is eing made a round shape then thin rod are woven in to it and it is a nice round shape when it is finish. A creel is
