Attend you sons and daughters and loving brothers dear.
To a sad and mournful accident I mean to let you hear.
Concerning Patrick Grogan whom you all knew here tofore.
It’s all around Drumkeeran town you’ll never see him more.

It was for Manorhamilton the young man did prepare.
On the 12th day of November they held their monthly fair.
To reach home that night with all his might this young he did stive.
But, alas, that habitation he never reached alive.

God help his loving parents his loss they deeply mourn.
Thinking of their loving son who will never more return.
His brothers and his sisters too may shed a silent tear.
In memory of that grand young man their loving brother dear.

It was a mournful accident in sorrow to relate.
But I hope the Lord will pardon him for his untimely fate.
Sad and dismal was his fate and mournful was his fall.
God grant it was a message from the great Almighty’s call.

To attend this young man’s funeral the people flocked around
Manorhamilton Dunkeeran and Kilkyclogher town.
From Dobally too the people flew Ballinaglera aye and Glann.
