    sewed it into this piece of sheep skin. Then they got the upper of the slipper and sewed it on to the piece of paste board and also to a new piece of skin.
    They made wyths out of the sheep skin by putting it across on a hoop made from a rod or a buckie bire, and pulling it very stiff and tying it until it would not move. These wyths were very useful in those days for winnowing oats.
