The system of match-making still exists in the district.

    (continued from previous page)
thought to be very unlucky for the Bride's mother to go even a piece of the way with her.
If the Bride went to her new home on the wedding night there was generally a Bride's drink a few days afterwards.
New garments were bought for Bride, Groom, Best-maid, and Bride's maid. Strange to say it was always the Groom who paid for these things.
When all was ready he had to ''show off'' his bride at the principal Mass on Sunday. Very Often this would be the only occasion on which Bride and Bridegroom walked, or travelled, together to Mass during their married life, such not being the custom in the district
