1. The new moon comes in the way the old one goes out.
2 If the water rises on the night of new Year's Eve it will be a bad season and provisions will be dear. people used to place a stick at the water level on that night to find out.
3.Ducks quacking or looking up at sky is a sign of rain.
4 Crows flying home low is a sign of rain
5 The wind whistling in keyhole sign of rain
6 If hens go out to feed during a shower it is a sign that there will
not be continuous rain
7 Cattle not going far from house when let out sign of rain
8 A halo around the moon is sure sign of rain.
Here in leitrim they say "the moon has up his umbrella"
9 The Rheumatics get worse when rain is approaching, also
corns on the feet.
10 The size of winnowing sheet of blue in the sky on a harvest
morning is a sign of a good day.
11 Soot falling down the chimney is a sure sign of rain
