  1. There was a man one time and he went away to work and to earn his fortune. He hired with a man for a year and at the end of the year the man's wife asked him whether he'd take his years wages or a good advice. The workman said that a good advice never did anybody any harm and that he'd take it instead of the wages. So the woman gave him the good advice and it was "never to cross the fields while you have the road to go" The man said the advice was good and that he'd take it and work for another year. So he worked for another year and at the end of the year the woman asked him the same question would he take his wages or a good advice so he took the good advice, and she told him never to lodge in a house where there was a young woman married to an old man. He said the advice was good and that he'd take it, so he worked for the
