  1. Some time ago when there were Landlords, there was one living in this parish (Lower Drumreilly) and in the town-land of Garadice. His name was Percy.
There was a man named McCloud that visited him regularly as he was coming and going to different counties. He was a stipendary or removal Magistrate and he had a big government pay. He resided at Enniskillen with his wife and children.
When ever there was a big law case he was generally sent for by the people and as he was a great tyrant he was always in favour of the Orange-men.
At that time there was a society known as the "Mollie Maguires" or the "Mollies" and any of them that there was any story told on they tried to put them in jail.
Well, there were three men arrested and brought to the barrack in Ballinamore. Then McCloud was sent for and he sent them to jail in Carrick-on-Shannon where he thought they'd be hanged.
Percy, the local Landlord was liked fairly well by most of his tenants as he wasn't a bad sort of a man. He didn't like to see a very unfair thing done and so he offered £5000 to McCloud to free the three men but he wouldn't take it.
For this McCloud met his fatal death as he was coming from visiting Percy.
There were two men sent to Garadice gate and they were there awaiting his return from Percy's. When he did come the driver had to get down to open the gate and then McCloud was shot.
