- 1. If the sun sets very red in the evening it is the sign of fine weather, but if it sets pale it is the sign of severe weather.
2. If the new moon sits on its edge it is the sign of fine weather, but if it lies flat it is the sign of rain. A circle around the moon is the sign of rain.
3. If a large number of stars is in the sky it is the sign of frost, but if they are scarce it is the sign of rain.
4. When the clouds are dark it is the sign of thunder and rain, but if they are fleecy it is the sign of warm weather. Red clouds in the sky are the sign of rain or approaching storm. When the clouds go fast along the sky it is the sign of rain.
