- Long ago the old people had a lot of pisógs in connection with May Eve and May Day. The people used to bring in a branch of the sycamore tree to every house and decorate it with the leaves on honour of the month of May. They also put the green branches in the animals tackling when they were going on long journeys. They always shook holy-water on the crops and on the cattle to keep away evil.
