    They stretched themselves beside the fire in the kitchen to rest. There was a good fire and a light burning in the house. During the night a large brown cat came into the kitchen and he sat beside the fire. Another cat and another and still another cat came in after him and they continued coming in until the house was full of cats.
    During all the this time our traveller Sullivan was awake but his companion McCarthy was sound asleep.
    The first cat to come in addressed his companions and said The King of England is in great trouble to-day for his dauther's death is hourly expected but if he only knew there is a well at the back of this house, the water of which would cure her if she took three drinks of it.
    The cats remained in the house for about an hour and then departed as mysteriously as they had come.
