    There are a lot of Old Cures and old people think themselves as good as doctors.

    If you got a very deep cut, put a cobweb on it or chew a blade of grass and put it into the cut to stop bleeding. The seventh son has a cure for toothaches. If a child had the whooping cough and put him under and over an ass three times it will cure it. And if you sew a hairy maggot into a little bag and tie it around a child's neck who has the whooping cough it will cure it.
