- The houses of long ago were not so roomy as they are at present. There were only two rooms in most of these houses, a kitchen and a bedroom. Often the cattle were tied at the end of the kitchen. There were little outlets called a calleac (?) built out of the side of the house. Usually the old couple of the house slept in the calleac.
