The Muckrossaune people waged a bloody battle with the people in Ballyglass; and Ballyglass's got Ballyrourke's to help them. The fight took place one Sunday evening and was probably the last of the old faction fights in this locality. Sticks, stones, bottles and weapons called "shillelaghs" were used by both parties. A wall built by the Ballyglass's was knocked down by the Muckrossaune's, and the Ballyglass in turn knocked down a wall built by the Muckrossaunes. Both walls were in the centre of the bog, and it stones with which they were built were the ones used in the conflict. While both those parties were tearing at one anothers throats, "Tom O Conor" slipped in and quietly fenced away some of the bog [according to himself] for the Neale villagers. Then he turned round and tried to claim it for himself, but was stopped by Lord Kilmaine. At last the dispute(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
