The father got ill, and the doctor was sent for and the doctor told them it was scarlet fever he had, and that it was a taking disease, and not to let anyone near the house. The next morning the whole family were ill except the mother. None of the neighbours would come near the house, and the family were dying with the thirst, and they had neither milk or water to drink. They were lying on straw on the floor of the kitchen.
   The old woman went down on her knees and prayed to God to send her milk for her family. The next morning at sunrise [?]
