    There is a ruin if the oldest church in the district in Killasser grave-yard. It was built by St. Lasser after the time of St. Patrick. The great scholars are not unanimous about where this man came from. But it is believed that he came from the north of Ireland.
    The walls are still to be seen. It is about twenty yards long and twenty feet wide. There are no bushes growing around this ruin.
    There are the remains of another old church at the western end of the parish. This ruin is called Kilsheshnan and it is said that it was a chief named 'O Ruadhán' that built it. The walls are about twenty yards long and twenty feet wide.
