Ar an leathanach seo
- Between 80 and 90 years ago wheat was largely grown here around. The seed was scattered by hand over 'lands' or wide ridges. These were trenched from both sides by men with shovels.
This I think was sent to the nearest mill to be made into flour.
They made the cakes with milk. The poorer people used water and they baked them in the bastable over the fire. Later the cakes were usually mixed with cream for state occasions.
