Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Foxford is the name of the town in which I am living. It is in the parish of Toomore. There are a lot of new houses in Foxford now but long ago there were only small low thatched houses in it. They are all slated houses now and no thatched ones. It is called Foxford because there is a waterfall in it.
    There are a lot of people in it over seventy years and some of them nearly ninety years of age. They know lots of Irish but they say they are losing their memories now. Some of them are so cranky and will not give us their stories because they say if they gave them to us everyone would be as wise as themselves.
    There are not many ruins of houses in this town because they were knocked down and new ones built on the sites. Not many people went to America long ago because the wages were very low. They were only getting one dollar a week. Also the means of going to America was very hard.
    There were only small sail boats that were blown by wind
